Project: Pakistan Secretariat Complex, Islamabad
Client: Capital Development Authority (CDA)
Architect: Geo-Ponti , Italy
Area: 1,800,000 (SFT)

The Pakistan Secretariat, when completed in 1964, was a milestone in multi storeyed building complexes in the country. It consists of (L) & (I) shaped blocks of six stories each, covering an area of over 1.8 million square feet.
The structure involves heavy foundations with 22,000 pre-cast panels, having an average weight of 1.5 tons each. Other prominent features are the the service blocks, parking facilities,

landscaping, flexible/rigid pavements and various other development works. It is worth mentioning that the high class terrazzo finish was introduced by Interhom, at the Secretariat building, for the first time in Pakistan.
