The
Pakistan
Secretariat, when completed in 1964, was a milestone
in multi storeyed building complexes in the country.
It consists of (L) & (I) shaped blocks of six stories
each, covering an area of over 1.8 million square feet.
The structure involves heavy foundations with 22,000
pre-cast panels, having an average weight of 1.5 tons
each. Other prominent features are the the service blocks,
parking facilities,
landscaping,
flexible/rigid pavements and various other development
works. It is worth mentioning that the high class terrazzo
finish was introduced by Interhom, at the Secretariat
building, for the first time in Pakistan.
